Is Josh Beckett really that good?

All though he has a very good era below 2, he also averages a lot less innings per game than most aces. He usually goes about 6-7 innings while most aces typically go at least 8-9 innings. Also he isn't leading the league in anything else, like Ks, Ws, etc. And he hasn't pitched in over a week.
