ZOOM Q3 problem? Please help?

My ZOOM Q3 Handy Recorder used to work fine, and I could edit videos on it easily. But now, whenever I save it to my desktop, and try to open it in Sony Vegas Pro , or Windows Live Movie Maker it says "We do not support the file type." Pretty sure ZOOM Q3 videos are .mov , i think they have to be .wme or something? I had to reset my computer due to a virus a little bit ago , and now the ZOOM file type seems to have changed, I've tried several file type converters. No such luck. Do I need some type of add on? Please help!
